  • Ride for Mobility Fund established:
    • Through monies raised by Sue Ellen Lovett on sponsored ride from Cairns to Gold coast in 1988
    • To fund overseas expertise to train RDAA coaches
  • RDAA agrees to participate in appropriate overseas competitions
1988
  • 9th National Conference held on the Gold Coast
  • Australia represented at 6th International Therapeutic Riding Congress in Toronto
  • RDAA Handbook & Training Video produced with Bicentennial Grant
1987
  • 2nd Interstate Camp held at Ballina, NSW
1986
  • 8th RDA National Conference held at Roseworthy, SA
1985
  • National Administrator (part-time) appointed by RDAA.
  • State Association formed in Queensland
    • RDAQLD become 7th member of the RDAA National body
  • Australia represented at International Congress in Milan, Italy.
  • Riding for the Disabled International (RDI) is formed
  • RDA classes start in Northern Territory at Alice Springs
  • 1st Interstate Camp held at Glenormiston, Victoria
1984
  • 7th RDA National Conference held in Launceston
  • HRH The Princess Royal, Princess Anne accepts appointment as Patron of RDAA

  • 6th RDA Conference held in Bowral, NSW
  • RDAA incorporated in Adelaide
